Abstract

|
Background:
@EN A simple and rapid screening procedure for the detection of human papillomaviruses(HPV) DNA using polymerase chain reaction(PCR) and single-strand conformation polymorphism(SSCP), was developed.
@ES Methods:
@EN HeLa cell lines, CasKi cell lines, and HPV6 and HPV11 infected condyloma cases were used as control sampes. Our method enabled us to reduce the number of PCR experimenls for the detection of HPV by using common primers for HPV. SSCP follwed
for
the
analysis of PCR products amplified from different HPV.
@ES Results:
@EN: SSCP and heteroduplex analyses of four types of HPV consistently showed the same pattern of migration. Using this pattern as a control, ten cases of condyloma acuminata were analyzed. Out of ten cases, six were found to be HPV6 and for
HPV11.
@ES Conclusions:
@EN These results suggest that PCR-SSCP is a simple and sensitive method for the detection and typing of HPV in condyloma acuminata lesions.
